The Jonah Hex trailer really does look pretty terrible. Sara and I are going out this weekend for our anniversary and it's possible that we are going to see a movie... I am hoping to get a chance to see Iron Man 2 for the second time, but the other choices are Prince of Persia, Jonah Hex and A-Team. I'm really only enthusiastic about seeing some Tony Stark goodness again but might have to try one of the others.

It's nice that the marriage isn't the boring part in a Superman comic book.
its not just the marraige but it was a nice part of a longer ongoing story. But i know its a DC book so its not very good

I’m posting this without having read any other posts. I listened to the second call from the same caller and didn’t feel quite so much empathy. I paused the iPod within seconds of the third call. There are no words.

I can see I’ve been listening whilst you guys slept. Interesting point on New Avengers David. You’re so right about Jumping Off points. It’s so sad in a way that we look for a chance to jump off books even when we’re enjoying them. I guess it’s the re-numbering working along with the collector mentality that makes it OK to stop buying the book. I’ve jumped off New Avengers at this point because I’m happy with the complete story I got from the first volume. It’s time to try something new. Let’s face it, I will be trying it in trade. I tried to do this with Diggle on Daredevil but it’s just too good.

No Sea Bear and Grizzly Shark talk? I'm a bit disappointed. I was excited to hear what you guys thought of the insanity.

Matt, speechless? I have a peculiar mixuture of anticipation and dread as I begin to listen. It does happen. I have been known to out “eerrrrrrrrr” and “ummmm” David from time to time. I can’t do it with as much charm and class as he does. Of course I have to say this or he’ll beat me at Words with Friends yet again by using the word “girth”.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this (I'm at work and don't have time to read all the comments)...
I can't remember where I heard (or read this), but Herb Trimpe changed his style on purpose in the 90s because he welcomed the challenge. I may have seen/heard it in an interview but he may have told me himself. I met him a couple of times at conventions in Florida in the last couple of years.

Interesting. If I was in Trimpe's place, the mere thought of changing the well-known, rock-solid style I spent the better part of my life cultivating would scare the piss out of me. Admirable that he rose to the occasion, though. I'd run away from that kind of challenge.

Yes. Still. And I don't get your point about any of the other marriages you brought up? None of them were boring either, and yet two out of three of them were written out as well. I don't see why Reed and Sue are the only successful married couple in Marvel Comics. And this isn't because of my age and the fact that I'm married either... I felt this way as a teenager. I LIKE seeing successful relationships in comics. I just never can get why it bugs you so much when people have strong feelings about comics that don't align perfectly with yours.
