Interesting. If I was in Trimpe's place, the mere thought of changing the well-known, rock-solid style I spent the better part of my life cultivating would scare the piss out of me. Admirable that he rose to the occasion, though. I'd run away from that kind of challenge.
It may also have been to keep working... we all know how rough it was for our childhood heroes to get work in the 90s.

I’ve got no problem with the Chris love. I mean who doesn’t? (pause) (extended pause) David?
(extended British pause) I flove this. I think it's another case of Vince not being up to the hip kids vernacular. Here a video that shall rid Vince of his confusion.

I just wanted to say thanks to Vince, New Avengers and Avengers were my actual first issues of the Avengers. I appreciate the moments that are included in the Bendis books because it allows me to understand the relationships within the group. I like the mix of character moments with the action mixed in, if I wanted to straight action I read Hulk or something else. I understand that conversation is what I am getting with a Bendis book after reading some of his work. But, it really is a matter of taste and that is how it is. On a second note, the voicemails were really kind of off the rails. I see no drop in quality in the episodes and really enjoy them as you guys have provided me with countless things to read and explore as I return to comics. I would never have found things like 7 soliders or Camelot 3000 without listening to episodes of this show. I also have one question does he know that half of 11 o'clock guys write for iFanboy?
Thanks -Jason

Vince is Hip and also "With it". Wrong! I'm sure it's not his mic fuzzing up the recordings, it's his brittle bones crunching and crackling apart!

I'm 100% with Chris on loving the increasing availability of options for ways to read comics. Why ever'body gotta be so pushy about making it all the one thing they want it to be?

Vince, I think the problem with your Marvel/DC Newsarama survey is that you don't want to learn what the people want to pay, you want to know what they WILL pay. If you ask people what they want, they want the best service/most product for the lowest price...they want everything for nothing... and you can't run a business like that.

This makes sense... I also don't think you really want to ask the "die-hards" about this kinda stuff. I truly believe we're not really the audience the digital initiative is intended for... they're not going to turn us away, of course, but they've already got us buying in print from the shops, they don't need us buying digital. I think it's all about expanding into new markets in ways they haven't been able to breach because of the direct market system.

It's REALLY nice to see David Hine writing something off the wall and personal like Bulletproof Coffin again. My first exposure to his work was the original printing of Strange Embrace, a deeply strange, disturbing and all around great book. It was years before I saw anything from him again, and then it was fairly pedestrian Marvel work (although I did like District X) which wastes his talent, IMO. Strange Embrace was reprinted not that long ago and should be relatively easy to find if anybody's interested. He wrote and drew it. It's nothing like Bulletproof Coffin but it oozes quality. Quality and creepiness.
