SUPERIOR #1 (of 6) Written by MARK MILLAR Pencils and Cover by LEINIL FRANCIS YU Ollie Janson had it all going for him—plenty of friends at school, good looks, and his coach called him one of the most talented basketball players he’s ever seen. But that was when he could still move his legs. Now he’s living with multiple sclerosis, missing all the little things he used to take for granted, and escaping into the world of movies and comics with his best friend. DEADPOOLMAX #1 Written by DAVE LAPHAM Pencils & Cover by KYLE BAKER “HEADS UP” When the world has a problem that’s bigger than any government, special ops team, or C.I.A. smart bomb can solve, they call in the one man crazy enough to solve it: Deadpool. Possibly unkillable mercenary, definite weapons expert and swordsman, hopeless romantic, nutjob. It’s that last part that presents a small problem and that’s where Agent Bob steps in. Bob’s sole charge in life is to point Deadpool at the problem and pull the trigger — not any easy task when your agent is a dime short of a dollar and three cards shy of a full deck, and even harder when you’ve gone deep cover in the impenetrable fortress of Hammerhead, the Grand Don of the most powerful criminal organization in the world, and your unkillable super agent is head over heels for a busty French maid baker named Inga…well, you begin to see the inherent problems of the job. How to play: - When making a suggestion, you should suggest something that challenges you. Meaning that you weren't sure if you were going to get it. Trying something with other people is what should make this fun. Among other reasons.
Oh, I didn't see this. I would sell plasma for a WbN and Man-Thing story, so I guess I'll revert to original vote for Turok.

"Comic of the Month" excludes anything with Deadpool by its very definition.
I nominate LIBERTY COMICS 2010 or TOMB OF TERROR #1.

I skimmed over this the first go-round because I thought it was just a trade of Pilot Season stuff, but now that I look closer and see it's all unpublished material... I think I'll be checking that one out, too.

It's our CT pick this month, so I'll make it mine, too: STAR TREK: KHAN: RULING IN HELL #1 Written by Scott Tipton and David Tipton, art by Fabio Mantovani, covers by Joe Corroney and Michael Stribling. When the most infamous villain in STAR TREK history is last seen in the Original Series episode "Space Seed," Khan Noonian Singh's an elegant, proud warrior-king. When he's next seen in STAR TREK II, he's a grizzled maniac, twisted by loss and an unquenchable thirst for revenge. What has happened between these two points in time to so radically alter what seemed to be an unbreakable will? 32 pages, $3.99, in stores on Oct. 13.

Marvel:
PUNISHER MAX: TINY UGLY WORLD #1 Written by DAVE LAPHAM Penciled by DALIBOR TALAJIC Cover by TIM BRADSTREET When Bobby Boorstein drags the bullet-riddled-but-still-breathing body of a mobster back to his apartment, he finds himself poised at the verge of greatness. Mommy always taught Bobby it’s the little things in life that count — like the tiny, ugly things he keeps stored in the mason jars on his shelf – but now he finally understands the true meaning of what she said. Bobby’s got plenty of empty jars to fill and he’s finally ready to do it. But first, he’s going to need a little thing from Frank Castle – whether he likes it or not. 40 PGS./One-Shot/Explicit Content …$4.99
Then… SUPERIOR entered his life. The newest smash superhero comic from MARK MILLER (KICK-ASS, NEMESIS, OLD MAN LOGAN) and his ULTIMATE AVENGERS 2 collaborator LEINIL FRANCIS YU (SECRET INVASION, NEW AVENGERS, ULTIMATE WOLVERINE VS. HULK) is sure to bethe most talked-about new series of 2010! 32 PGS./ Mature…$2.99
TOMB OF TERROR #1 Written by JOE R. LANSDALE, ROB WILLIAMS, JOE PRUETT & PAUL HORNSCHEMEIER Penciled by MARK TEXIERA, JORDAN RASKIN, PABLO PEPPINO & MORE Cover by TRAVEL FOREMAN Marvel’s most terrifying monsters star in four tales of harrowing horror! Jack Russell, the Werewolf by Night stalks a killer werewolf in the mountains while searching for a cure that will end his curse. The mal-formed Man-Thing, temporarily in possession of his mind, attempts to save a man from certain death at the hands of racist hunters. And Son of Satan battles a possessed child killer along with the murderous voices in his head. All this and much more in this all-new, all-black-and-white one-shot in the spirit of the Mighty Marvel Magazines of yore, but ALL-NOW in style! 32 PGS./Black & White/One-Shot/Parental Advisory…$3.99
We're supposed to be challenging ourselves, right? That's why I can't suggest Strange Tales II #1 (because I'm getting it) but I should be suggesting:
But no one can take it like Bob, no one can dish it like Deadpool, and no one can show you every last detail if it like MAX! You may think you know Deadpool …you have no idea. 32 PGS./Explicit Content …$3.99
And because it's Cullen Bunn and Tom Fowler:
DEADPOOL TEAM-UP #888 Written by CULLEN BUNN Penciled by TOM FOWLER Cover by HUMBERTO RAMOS Let me tell ya something, Ben Grimm! And when ol’ Deadpool’s yapping, you better listen and listen good! You may think you’re fantastic! But if you’re gonna walk that aisle and get in the ring, you’re better off with me than against me! I’m all about limousines, fine-looking ladies and—woo!—championship belts! By my side … under my tutelage … you might just amount to something! When it comes to clobbering time … it’s time to go to school! And you can take that to the bank, brother, because what ya gonna do … when Deapoolmania runs wild … on you!?! 32 PGS./Parental Advisory …$2.99

I'm sure I'm late, and it's not exactly an indie, but I haven't read an X-book in years, though I may be willing to dip a toe in for Rick Remender/Jerome Opena on "UNCANNY X-FORCE #1"
