One of my fondest memories is that day in late spring when I brought all the neighborhood children to the local Borders to hear Sir Charles Barkley read aloud "Al's Turrible, Harrible, No Damn Good, Very Bad Day." I'll never forget it .

One Night in Chyna and Two Nights in Chyna
I thought that was an Urban Legend, or at least just hoped it was. I remember seeing China pose for playboy, one scary bitch. That's one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard. That's worst than 2 girls, 1 cup. NO, NO, nothing is worse then 2 girls, 1 cup ... shiiiivvver N Travis N

I see where you are coming from with this John and sure there might have been hours & hours of great panels to attend and a large artist alley to peruse but "The Heat" (the hype & big announcements) that came outta SDCC this year were almost exclusively film & tv related. The above text of yours i put in bold, as interesting as they sound, didnt find there way to bleeding cool, CBR, newsarama or iFanboy but scott pilgrim, Avengers assembling, TWD tv, the infinity gauntlet & even non-punisher news made the biggest splashes on the wire.
they will, eventually, if cbr and newsarama sent reporters or bloggers to those panels, as they have in the past . like it or not these websites want as many eyeballs as possible so yes their first priority is to promote the mainstream oriented film and tv news, and spread out the other panel happenings in the days and weeks after the con. but right now ...DC has 23 podcasts of their panels up at itunes of this year's panels & jamie coville's website http://www.thecomicbooks.com/audio.html has the Eisner awards, the Bill Everett & Siegel and Schuster panels plus a dozen more recorded . you just need to know where to look for the stuff.

OK, I just showed her the EW cover image (without the headline Green Lantern on it) and she still knew who it was (She then asked me why I keep asking her the same question ). So in the end it still came to the same result. the Tiki

For some reason, I think Guy's uni would be the only one that wouldn't look silly onscreen straight from the comic.

Karma, John. BTW, I really enjoyed your Live Bendis Tapes this morning. Looking forward to the rest of your panels! Hi Guys,
I'm writing not to be negative but to correct a misoconception about SDCC. You guys sounded like you were bemoaning the fact that all "the heat" at SDCC is taken up by the TV and movie news.
My response as someone who's gone to 3 of the last 5 SDCC's is that's not a a true representation of the scope of the con which is still as diverse and most importatntly heavily comic book oriented.
this show still has INCREDIBLE comic book news and panels you only get in SD.
If you want to only pay attention to the TV and films stuff, that's unfortunate, because like in years past any attendee can witness the hardcore comics stuff they'd hope to see and not be bothered by the film and TV hype.
thursday friday and saturday there were over 60 hourlong panels each day devoted to comics, and I'm not counting things like the GL movie scott pilgrim flim, or walking dead TV examples
From comic history looks at folks like Bill Everett Frazetta, Williamson, and Siegel and Schuster by historians, to first hand accounts by golden age, silver age and bronze age guys. to name a few, Jennette Kahn Denny O'neil Neal adams, jerry Robinson, and Paul Levitz, all had several panels talking about how they made comics history.
Indie legends like Gilbert Hernandez, Larry Marder, Howard Cruse and many others...
Friday had 7 hours of non-competeing comic book retailer seminars & the 3 & a half hours of the Eisners.
there were several master classes on writing drawing inking and coloring, plus many how to get your comic started seminars.
DC and marvel had "how to break in their specific companies seminars" by mark Chiurello and CB
There were many digital comics And web comics presentations
over a dozen comics in the classroom panels citing specific graphic novels and discussions suitable for teaching at various grade levels.
several legal debates and historic accounts over public domain, and character rights issues.
plus the usual publishers & creator panels you see at other cons.
By my count a total of 220 hours of strictly comic book subject panels spread over 4 days.
Ask others who attended, or better still, come to the con yourself, and you'll see.

You did you knucklehead! LMAO! Your so pretty. I wasn't comparing Warhol to Sim in terms of their art, only that their personalities are as recognizable as their art. Each is a case where the identity behind the art is compelling as the stuff we see on the gallery wall or the comic page. For me, I can't separate the two from their work. The men that they are/were are as interesting and exiting to me as their artistic output.

I thought you were comparing their personal identities. They are complete opposites of one another. Your above statement clarified your position to me of comparing that they are UNIQUE personalities unto themselves not that their personalities are similiar. Sorry about they misunderstanding. the Tiki
