That looked quite good...surprisingly good!

Was that a feline Beast I saw at the blackbird controls? I need to go back and freeze frame it.

try here, a load of screen caps

I thought it was very exciting (loved the sets, the trench-coats, the acting) but the trailer left me frustrated with the lack of Hellfire Club footage. Always leave them wanting more, though...

I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling this at the moment. I'm not sure if it's the trailer that's not clicking with me or what, but this trailer made me want to see the movie less. which sucks 'cause I've been looking forward to this.

IGN.com has posted a very cool breakdown of the trailer:

Vaughn is pretty much a G. No way this outright sucks.

I re-watched this movie last night on HBO and it holds up very well on second viewing. Fassbender, Kevin Bacon and James McAvoy all gave outstanding performances. I definitely think it's one of the better superhero films in recent years. The only thing that really mars it for me is the presence of the Angel Salvadore character. Even in a movie filled with mutant characters and crazy powers, that character seemed laughably ridiculous, especially when spitting balls of acid (or flaming digestive fluid or whatever that stuff was) and flitting around on her fairy wings. I just couldn't take her seriously for a moment.

Anyway, that complaint aside, I really enjoyed watching the movie a second time. Smiley

Jim

This movie holds up to repeat watching.  Thumbs Up

I have it on Blu-ray but every time I am flipping the channels and I see it on HBO, I stop whatever I am doing and watch it a scene or two.

I've been doing the same thing. That's why I finally decided to just re-watch the entire movie last night!

i think my favorite scene is the one where Erik confronts the ex-Nazis in Argentina. Everything about that scene is awesome.

I agree. I also get goosebumps every time I see the ending and Erik reveal's his new name.

Yeah, that could have easily ended up being a cheesy scene but instead, it has some genuine power!

I'm of the mind that directors are cheating when they use Fassbender, because he elevates everything he's in.

I only have 3 things that bother me about this film:

1: Angel - Ugh. Just an annoying character.
2: January Jones - Such crap acting.
3: The whole "show your powers" scene. A little to cute.

Despite that is really is a good move that does hold up to repeat viewings more than previous X-Films. I think this is due to Fassbender, McAvoy, and Bacon just killing it.
