Duncan the Wonder Dog.  Picked it up from Adam at SPX and I read the first 100 pages this morning on the subway.  I really started digging it around pg. 51 or so.  Haven't read anything like it.   Thumbs Up

You know those Batman stories make a lot of sense to some people. Don't generalize because you do not like the run.

His current Batman run on different Bat related titles is what is --

Morrison crap.

You can put put cologne on it but it still stinks to high heaven.  I read Morrison's first Bat issue Batman 655 all the way to Batman 702; I even tried the first 6 issues of Batman & Robin w/ Tony Daniel Batman issues on the side.   Years of Bat shit is still years full of Bat shit.  The comic has to made damn sense. The only good Bat issues was the four issues written by Judd Winnick.

I have read & enjoyed comics for 27 years.

'Nuff Said.

So is it written, apparently.  Roll Eyes

I think there are a lot of people who would disagree with you about the quality of Morrison's run.

Well they can smoke to get the Morrison high on whatever they want; so they can think whatever they want is correct & tell me the sun is shining when I know it raining outside my home.  Or that comic shit is comic epicness to the nth degree.

So before this get too out of hand.

I like the Comics Journal, but the publication's reporting takes a backseat to its agendas a bit too often. Steve Bissette articulated this point very well:

Quote
Bissette: My perception was, and is, that Gary [Groth] and Kim Thomson… I get along fine with both of them. I haven’t seen them in years, but we’ve always had by-and-large very cordial relations. They are publishers. First and foremost. They are passionate advocates for the cartoonists they publish.

(Laughter)

Nickerson: Well, that’s true.

Bissette: That, for me, is the inherent conflict of interest for Fantagraphics. They are publishers, by definition in competition with publishers and self-publishers; this inherently undermines their legitimacy as journalists. ‘Nuff said.

Yea, I think you missed the part where it's just your opinion though.

When I read/watch/listen to something that's critically acclaimed and I don't like it, my first thought is always "why am I not getting it?", not "why is everyone else idiots?". Perhaps you could be more open minded and listen more to what people love about the book. That way you might get some value out of those 50 some issues you've already purchased.

Look I get All Star Superman & Arkham Asylum 100% but the rest of the current Batman stuff of his is beyond me.

I'm not wrong about Grant Morrison. Morrison loyalists can believe whatever they like -- it still doesn't change reality nor my own opinion --which is the correct one.

Now its time to get back to listening to the Eagles -- Hotel California.

Im not a Morrisson loyalist at all. I liked his Justice League but dont care for his animal man run. Ive read all of the his current Batman run and I know Im enjoying it. I work for the Ny library system and I see what trades are reserved the most and Morrissons Batman is one of those trades from the Batman and Son to Batman RIP.

Yes, I like to mellow out to The Eagles music.  Blame my mom & dad for having a unique taste in music.

Listening to Desperado now.

I wanted to drop some Jeffery Brown and MMA knowledge for all of you guys.

First, I'm good "internet" friends with Mr. Brown. We are both from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He sent me a copy of Sulk #2 when it came out. He told me it was directly influenced by the now defunct Japanese MMA Promotion Pride Fighting Championships.

I believe Eldark Garprub was based on either Joachim Hansen...

Or Wanderlay Silva...

Commentator Rass Button is Bass Ruton...

And I know for a fact that Haruki Rabasaku is directly based on Kazushi Sakuraba, one the top pound for pound fighter from 1999 to about 2004.

MMA is my sport of choice, and Sakuraba was amazing to watch in his prime. Please take a few minutes of your time to watch this highlight reel.

-EDIT- ( I have a nother horrible habit of posting things that aren't finished.)
I have a horrible habit of judging art as " ...if I can do it better, it can't be that good." approach. I've changed that attitude drastically  and sometimes find stuff amazing that I wouldn't have gave a second look to in my youth. Luckily I am not in the position of reviewing comics and though I may talk of things on my podcast, I hope that it is my taste that is being discussed and that is all.
