Comixology can only import x # of books a week so it might just be diverting resources to stuff that a) sells better or b) has minimal presence in the system. It could easily be Comixology figuring "Well we've got 25 books from them, that's enough for now"
That's exactly right. They seem to just have a manpower issue with getting the files uploaded on a weekly basis and I think they probably prioritize things that will be better sellers. And, I'd bet that Marvel/DC huff and puff about getting their stuff up faster.
There are sooooo many interesting things about watching this evolve and I think in the long run, everything will be digital (but it'll take time).
- There is NO rhyme or reason to 99% of the Big 2 superhero releases. They're just randomly flinging stuff up there.
- Most of the Vertigo titles can be found in the Comixology app, but cannot be found in the DC app (WTF?)
- Marvel releases new titles on Tuesday when everyone else release on Wednesday.
- Some Vertigo titles like Y the Last Man, Fables, 100 Bullets release a new issue every week, but then skip a week for no apparent reason.
- Titles where they release the first issue and then never release any more (Young Allies)
- Marvel's frequent 99 cent sales. Recently they've been pushing Thor stuff, but last weekend they had the ~2009 War Machine series (WTF?)
- DC's 99 cent sales where they put like 100 issues of Green Lantern comics on sale every couple months.
- Image's complete lack of sales on anything.
Just weird, but fun to watch evolve.
