holy moly this sounds like a ton of fun!

bleeding cool article:

Tr!ckster, The Creator Owned Comic Bar For San Diego Comic Con
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/05/16/trckster-the-creator-owned-comic-bar-for-san-diego-comic-con/

Quote
The San Diego Wine And Culinary Center wine bar directly across the road (and the tram tracks) from San Diego Comic Con will be transformed for one week into Tr!ckster, a 4,500 square foot area for comic creators to launch books or sell limited runs of new books or items with gallery space for display and a symposium spot as well.

There will be ticketed events throughout the week, focusing on the process of comic creation, about technique, about history, about the ins and outs of storytelling and art making. But there will be no booths… it’s more of a gathering atmosphere. With alcohol.

the event  schedule sounds very cool and interesting. and its near enough where it'll be relatively easy to drop by to take a look see. the guest list is amazing. the whole concept is brilliant. and since its at a wine bar, hopefully it'll have a manageable crowd.

i can't frikkin' wait!

This sounds totally cool!  What an awesome idea!  I'm planning to check it out.  For the first time in decades (literally) I have a 4-day pass to the con.  Might not be able to go each day but I have the option.  Attractions like this one are for me - comic-centric events that have been less prominent as the con has grown.

Holy crap, I am so there (since I wasn't able to get a preview night ticket).  I was gonna go to Tijuana, but this sounds like more fun!

I wish I could go to Trickster more than San Diego. I want to get my hands on the hardcover to add to my near complete Mignola art collection.

I live on the East Coast and going to college.  I won't be seeing the West Coast for a long time...

yeah, thats my impression too (from tv and jokes people tell). but both are just as readily available here in the US.  do the TJ hookers (heehee) have better customer service? does the booze taste better? Smiley

===

re: trickster. the symposiums all sound really interesting, certainly more my tastes that most sdcc panels.

and though i'm not a big drinker, i'd buy that specialty drink just to get that limited edition shot glass. have it signed by mignola or something!

Trannies, donkeys, and 18 (hah, more like 12) age limit for alcohol.  I will say no more ...
