I'm still against this whole Good Chaykin/Bad Chaykin argument. I think his stuff is awesome no matter what.
And could your argument be skewed because he's being put in the same book as Deodato?
No, I have really been turned off to all his recent Marvel stuff. Iron Man 503, Captain America 616. The character design just doesn't do it for me.
The current arc is ok, not a fan of the "first" avengers thing in the past. I'm looking forward to them getting back to the current timeline. I like all the interplay between the current team, the look at Cage and Jones relationship, Doc Strange, etc. It has been one of my favorite books.
Up until now thats what I have enjoyed about the book. For me, it's my favorite line up with my favorite Hero couple Luke and Jess. That's why I want this arc to finish up.
I love Chaykin's work but there are clear examples of "Good Chaykin" and "Bad Chaykin".
The New Avengers is an example of "Mediocre Chaykin". It's not as over-rendered as the DHP story but it's not "Good Chaykin".
The idea is cool but they shouldn't have called it "The Avengers".
Exactly, Nick should have gathered this rag tag team together and called them his bitches or something else.
