Holy Terror, Fixer! Wait, Who?

Legendary Comics debuts with Frank Miller?s HOLY TERROR in September
In the white-hot days following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, a lot of art was planned and some executed. One near legendary project was Frank Miller?s Holy Terror, Batman, which was just what it sounded like?the Batman taking on the terrorists. With Miller?s increasingly right-wing views, it was expected to be a real barn burner.
However, it turned out to be a little too hot for DC? as did the project?s editor Bob Schreck, who left for IDW and now a start-up line at Legendary Pictures. With a main character recast as ?The Fixer,? the book is now planned to come out this September, in time for the 10th anniversary of a day most people would rather forget.

has it been 10 years already since frank miller made a good comic?
spend your money on "can't get no". then save up for the trade of holy terror. at least that way your might get a complete story.

Interesting, in that it should have come out 10 years ago. Obviously a gut turning event like 9/11 invoked this hatred in Miller which he then harnessed into art. I don't know if seeing it 10 years later will illicit the intended reaction that it would have in days past. In the last 10 years we have been inundated with comics, films and shows about terror and people taking matters into their own hands. Terrorists have become the new 80's Russians as villians. I know the Miller will make this hyper violent and even that seems outdated for what he wants to say here.
In the end this comic may have helped some people cope 10 years ago and it's a shame that companies were scared to go forth with art. I'll still check it out because even in his crazy years Miller still can hit.

Why did September 11 make formerly-entertaining guys named Miller lose their f**king minds?

Frank Miller has never made a bad comic.
I can't wait for this, and all the other Miller projects that are lined up in the future!

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

Maybe seeing people jump out of skyscraper windows rather than being burned alive.

Me, too! I love Miller's art, almost the more expressive it gets. The stories may not be as refined as they used to, but the energy of his art is unparalleled. I hope he'd do more comics.

Dennis Miller was already becoming ultra conservative before 9/11. I chalk it up to him wanting to keep more of his money. Frank has had a fascist slate to his work since DKR and the second (or was it third) Martha Washington arc was pretty much Atlas Shrugged. so I don't think 9/11 really had all that much to do with their outlook.
