DCBS Q & A
« on: 09:02 PM | Monday, February 15, 2010 »

Hello friends!

As everyone knows, I work for DCBS. I've worked there since 2005 and am very much in love with my job. A little background for you: I started there as a packager, began working in customer service and now I head up our First Light program, head up the customer service department, organize store events, as well as work in the brick and mortar side of the store.

It was suggested to me that, because of the number of DCBS threads the pop up in the board occasionally, that an "official" DCBS Q & A be started so that all of the questions can be fielded and consolidated into one place instead. And that I field as many questions as possible so that you guys are getting the correct information about your concerns. That made perfect sense to me and here we are. As I'm sure a lot of you know, I do the same thing over at the CGS boards and it seems to have been pretty successful over there in terms of getting information out and helping you guys out--I'm sure that will be no different here.

I love being here and, really, the least I can do is give back to you guys by helping out with whatever questions you have.

A couple of things before we get started:

1.) Please consult the DCBS FAQ first. I'm more than happy to help out in any way that I can, but most questions about the store are answered there.

2.) I can't and won't give out proprietary information. This may seem odd to bring up, and the instances are few and far between, but it comes up and it's usually not on purpose. There are just some questions that I cannot answer. I will politely let you know if that is ever the case with a question.

Okay...fire away!

Zach....

Cool thing happened today.  I got my DCBS box on Thursday instead of the regular Friday.  (I live in NC and am a weekly customer).

Is this a one-time fluke or a change in shipping?

It's likely a fluke. Basically, all of the regular month-end shipments are packaged and sent at random, so the day they leave the warehouse is also at random.

I would guess that your package just left a day earlier than it has in the past (so it must have left on a Wednesday or Thursday).

That is, unless you're a weekly or twice-a-month customer, in which case your package always leaves on Wednesdays and UPS must have just been particularly speedy with this delivery.

That must be it.  Just superfast UPS (since I'm weekly).  Regardless, it was pretty darn cool which I got home and said, 'Holy crap!  That's a DCBS box in the driveway!"  Smiley

Nope, it's fine. Just send a line to customer service and let us know what you would like to have added. We'll get you squared away.

Hi Zack, I'm moving this week and would like all my future DCBS shipments (including this week's shipment, if possible) to be sent to my new address.  I emailed on Sunday with the details, but since I haven't heard back and I think you all start processing the shipping info on Tuesdays (at least, I usually get a UPS email on Tuesdays about my upcoming shipment), I thought I'd check here in case there's anything else I need to do.  Not a massive problem if this shipment goes to my old address, but it'd be nice if the address gets fixed.

An unreasonable amount of my excitement about going from living in a condo to owning a house is due to the fact that my DCBS boxes will be left on the front step of my house rather than subject to my condo management company's whims (about half the time the condo management people leave early on Fridays and my DCBS box gets locked up in their office and inaccessible to me all weekend).  Basically, I spent several hundreds thousand dollars to get my comics on Friday instead of Monday.  I regret nothing!

I'm certain that it will be addressed today. But, in the mean time you can actually update your address in your DCBS account right now. Just log into your account click on MY PROFILE and you can update your address there and it will take effect immediately.

PM me your e-mail address and I will double check it when I go into the store later today

Zack,

Why are you guys so awesome? Is it genetics or upbringing? Nature or nurture?
