Murderland: Ugh.....people forget this one, but it is unfinished and not very good.

That one was written by a dude named Stephen Scott.  Don't think Nick Spenser had anything to do with it?  Thinking  Maybe you're thinking of Shuddertown?

Bingo....You are correct and win a no-prize.

Shuddertown wasn't very good (neither was Murderland).  Smiley

Morning Glories has been good fun--but I do think some people oversell it. Until the book actually provides some answers that deliver on the promise of the first few issues I can't quite call it a "great" book.
Thunder Agents however, has been a truly great book.
Iron Man 2.0 was a very average debut for a new title, really didn't hook me and--unless I hear great things about the next few issues--I'll probably trade wait if I read it at all.
Infinite Vacation was an incredible debut and one of the recent new titles I am now most looking forward to continuing.

In conclusion, I think Spencer is clearly a talented young writer with TONS of potential. However, he is still a relatively unproven talent whose work is still at least somewhat uneven.
What he can accomplish as he more finely establishes his craft may be very interesting to watch indeed. In particular, how well he can pick up the reigns for Secret Avengers (a title which Brubaker has made one of my favorite team books in recent issues) is of particular interest to me.

I never got into Morning Glories but I think he has lots of potential.  Iron Man 2.0 issue 1 is ok, but he might not have been up for that project.  I mean Rhodey is a great character but has never been good at solo books.  I like more on teams like Secret Avengers.  I would love if he could do Captain America or something really out there like a Machine Man book or something like that.

I prefer Snyder's writing style more than Spencer's.  The only series of Spencer's I've been able to get past the first issue of was Existence 2.0 (and that was only because I wanted to see if it got better).

Infinite Vacation is neat though.

The only Nick Spencer work I've read was his Jimmy Olsen back-ups in Action Comics. I liked them a lot. Guess I can rule out the possibility of the continuing adventures of Jimmy Olsen. Cry

I agree.  Plus his 2 seconds working on Supergirl.

Spencer and Snyder are both relatively new writers whose last names both start with S. Other than that, they are both wildly different types of writers--each remarkably unique in his own right. Comparing creators is an interesting process but it's a bit strange to see how most discussions of Spencer's contract with Marvel have devolved into comparisons between these two.
I would hate to see rising talent too harshly criticized by connecting one's work to anothers in such an arbitrary way. As far as am concerned, these are two talented newcomers to the industry who are each developing some intriguing--and very different--works.
I'll save my harsher comparison-based criticisms for more generic writers whose works have become much easier to peg down as his or her type of storytelling. These guys are both simply too new and interesting to be discredited as inferior to the other.
