You say Micronauts and I go all gooshy inside.  At HeroesCon I bought approx the first 12 Micronauts and Michael Golden signed like, the first four or five.  Gratis! I think I inspired him when I recalled to him the scene that shall forever stand out of Karza's hand detaching and strangling a rebel, and how the black blood welled through the rebel's mouth.  So stark and dynamic. Golden is GOLDEN.

The Dire Wraiths' coolness/viciousness struck me because
1) They could disguise as people--sleeper agents if you will.  And when ROM blasted them, it would look like he was murdering an ordinary citizen--BRUTALLY!!

2) They had those wicked barbed spear-fisher tongues that would nail their victims right in the forehead!!  SHHLLUUULULULULULULUPPP!!!!

And I would be gushing heaps of praise upon the return of Adam to these airwaves if it were not for the fact that the Besenyodi graced me with some beautiful and gracious vocal communication not so long ago. (Mine mine MINE!! Eat yer hearts out!!)

But I guess it's good to share the wealth.

Good score at HeroesCon! I had him sign Marvel Fanfare #1 at NYCC last year.  .....and, although I haven't seen it in decades, I TOTALLY remember that scene/panel. Karma for stimulating that old memory pathway!

Who DIDN'T have Godzilla and Rodan? Seriously, how did you guys first get exposed to Godzilla and giant monster movies? For me, it was the Son of Svengoolie horror and monster movies on Saturday afternoons. See below.

The first Godzilla movie i watched all the way through as a kid was Godzilla 1985.  I think it was around 1991?  I had seen clips of Godzilla for years before that.  I didn't start watching Toho movies until the mid 90s when they got aired a lot on Sci-fi Channel. 

BTW has no one accepted my challenge to post Willow comic panels?

When I was between ages 6-12, they showed Godzilla movies (and Pink Panther toons) as Sat/Sun matinee's on a huge screen at this performance theater-hall turned 2nd run movie theater that was one long block away from our apartment.  I saw them all there, while goofing off with friends in this huge theater, standing on stage, wandering the mansion-like halls and bathrooms, eating concessions, talking to girls....it was awesome!  ...After I went away to college, the place was bought and turned into 4-screens.

That's so awesome that you got to see them on the big screen. The few times I've been able to do that have been extremely enjoyable!

I just finisihed this episode. Really enjoyed the trip back to look at all the licensed property stories from Marvel in my youth (same age as Steve). Any podcast that dedicates time to old Marvel Conan, Micronauts, Larry Hama GI Joe, Star Wars and the like is aces in my books
- At that age Mego 8 inch action figures, Micronauts and the early little GI Joe fellas were the greatest.

I may have to go back and look at some of those old issues.

Listening now.  Great work fellas but strange to hear the Noise without the King.  That cover of Crystar really brought me back.  There is something I doubt I have thought about since the day I bought it (my old time books are far away in storage 3000 miles away).  Nice three man weave.  Keep up the good work!

How can this be?  The great Steve Raker was chased off by the Carmine Infantino artwork.  Those early issues were some of the first comics I remember buying as a little kid.  When Dark Horse collected them in trade, I couldn't wait to buy it and relive those times.  

I mean obviously I like the giant green rabbit character from that series, Jax?  How could you not love that character.

I am catching up on back episodes so please forgive me posting in this thread so far out.  Here are some random and not so random thoughts.

The Marvel licensed talk had me thoroughly entertained and definitely brought back some memories.  I was very much a child of the eighties (born in 1976) and G.I. Joe and Transformers were both fixtures while I was growing up, as was Star Wars.  

I really need to read ROM at some point.

Still trying to catch the Micronauts bug.

The part of the conversation that caught my attention was when the guys were talking about Todd McFarlane's issue of G.I. Joe.  I bought a good chunk of that series back in 1998 (issues 27 to 106, what a fantastic read) and remember coming across that McFarlane issue.  I also remember seeing a special issue with a McFarlane cover that had Snake-Eyes in the Spider-Man #1 pose.

It looked like this.

What I didn't know was the skinny on that special but thankfully Comic Book Legends Revealed told the whole story some time back.  Instead of trying to re-tell that story here I will just post the link to the article.

Glad you dug it, Michael.....recording that segment with Adam was a fun time.....we've been wanting to do a sequel covering Marvel's movie adaptations, but Adam's ridiculous schedule hasn't allowed him to poke his head out of the sand yet!
