I have to agree with others about All Star Superman, bought it recently on comixology And while it isnt bad I'm not excited to read the rest of it and I am on issue nine, I honestly found the bizarro world stuff hard to read.
Bizarro Jor-El was awesome & you had to feel for Zibarro.
Bizarro-speak is a challenge, & some write it better than others.
Try this thread if you really want to be confused.

My confession - I just can't understand people who don't get All-Star Superman. That seems so... wrong to me. The same holds true of folks who don't like DKR and Watchmen. I must be from a different planet.
I wonder if All-Star Superman reads better episodically than in one chunk.
I read it in issues & loved it.
Conversely, I remember Watchmen on the stands, & I didn't get it,
(but I didn't start w/ issue #1). In the 90's a friend handed me the trade.
I read it all in two sittings & Loved, loved, loved it.
DKR I was reading in issues from #1 & it feels just as good to me either way.

Confessions -
I really find Geoff Johns writing to be pretty bland and basic.
I do not enjoy Bagley's work at all.
This "good" Chaykin work I keep hearing about looks awful to me. I don't like any of his work post early eighties.
I've never read Secret Wars or Infinity Gauntlet, but plan on remedying this sometime soon.
As much as I enjoy American Vampire, I am getting pretty tired of the entire vampire genre.

I never have, seemingly never will. As a publisher I understand why he gets work, reliable, fast, adequate.
As a reader... I just don't get it. I do not understand the praise heaped on him.
Oh, well. To each their own

I'm like that with John Romita Jr. I know lots of people love his work, but for me if he's announced as the penciller for a book, it's enough to keep me away from it.

The only Mignolaverse book I've ever read is one trade of a BPRD.
Never read a Fables, or Scalped, or DMZ.
Don't think I've enjoyed anything I've tried of Warren Ellis'.
And I feel pretty much done with Marvel in general.
It's good to get that off my chest.

I'm almost there with you. Second month in a row that I haven't preordered anything from Marvel.
They should follow DC's lead. I'm getting 7 monthlies from them now instead of the 4-5 that I was before the relaunch

I'll probably pick up Thor: The Mighty Adventure at some point, just because I love Langridge's work so much, but the constant cycle of new status quo's really has led me not to care about the continuity driven stuff at all. The new Daredevil seems fun, but still completely superfluous.

I picked up Batman: Year One.
I know I'll cop some flak for this, but I wasn't wowed by it. Batman was hardly in it, and was in civvies for the climax of the story. Catwoman appeared..for some reason.
It's really a commissioner gordons story, and if I take it from that point of view, its really really solid. After reading it though, I'm at a loss as to why Warner thinks its a good idea to make an animated movie out of it. I'll read it again however, to make sure im not crazy
But I'll still buy the Blu-ray sheesh!

Read the third BPRD trade.

I hope they don't. I'm sick of DC rebooting restarting their entire line after some big event.
Its hard enough for me to get into DC with its continuity, the changes just make it harder.

The Bizarro stuff got old fast, definitely the weakest of the 12 issues.

I respectfully, totally disagree. The Bizarro sections are my favorite part of All Star Superman, and I really enjoyed All Star Superman. My least favorite part was the Atlas and Hercules(?) trying to wow Lois.

If Johns were a pitcher, he'd be a starter, but not a closer.
Strikes out several batters early, but I'm not sure he's always got a full game.

A good story is a good story regardless of genre, but I hear ya.
I've felt that off & on w/ zombies.

Great ideas, terrible execution. Heavy handed dialog right out of an after school special.

Well observed there regarding the dialogue. He does have a tendency to go down that road. I find that also to be the case with JMS.
I will say Johns' Flash run and JSA run are, in my opinion, pretty remarkable overall. Somehow though I lost interest in his Green Lantern stuff and I'm a huge fan of DC silver-age sourced characters.

Johns is always better than average, but he's never done anything that's my favorite story. I don't think that's a slight against him at all. I love his Flash run, it's one of my most reread comics of all time. I liked GL from Rebirth through Blackest Night, but I was fine with taking a break after that. I'm excited to see what he does in Justice League. It should be a lot of fun.

Just kidding I have no real issue with the character. I've only really read the Dark Avengers & The List stuff with him. I should correct myself, I have no issue with him other than the Wolvie connection. He would have been fine as another Sabretooth type character.
I do on the other hand happen to hate the fact that when he heals his tattoos heal with his skin.
