Maybe he checked the episode archive link. I did that before, looking for the latest episode thread, and found none. But of course it hasn't been archived yet at that point so it wouldn't show up in the archive section Doh!

This isn't the first time that's happened.  For some reason, ericmci refuses to post in the current episode thread.  Ever.

Maybe it's time to update the ol' Bookmarks?

RE: The digital shift and changing the way comics are written

The gem of this episode was the musings on what will happen when digital downloads become the primary means of reading comics. I recently led a discussion on Planetary at my my local comic book shop, and several of the participants had downloaded the whole series onto their iPads.  The two-page spreads got lost in the extra space, and the trademark Ellis text-heavy exposition pages (the ones that outnumber his widescreen shots 4-to-1 in Planetary) were very difficult to read without having to zoom the page.

Chris's point that they may have to rethink word balloons seems right on the money: text-heavy comics (think Bendis particularly) may become a thing of the past if the digital revolution comes to pass.  Chris should start writing his "I told you back in Episode 169 that this was what was going to happen" speech now.  Great analysis.
