I started off buying the vintage stuff that to replace the stuff I had as a kid.  Once I completed that, I started seeing the new stuff, and was really blown away.  It's gone a bit awry since then:

Thanks for the compliments - I've had a lot of fun putting this together!  I've actually got a bit more than is on display, I just ran out of room on those shelves.  I opted to put only one version of each figure on display, with the exception of troop builders that is.  Given the number of Snake-Eyes, Cobra-Commanders, etc that have been released I've got a whole basket full of 'extras'.  Someday I'll get around to getting stands for the vintage figures and display those as well.

My kids think I'm whacked... o well!   Cheesy

I have bittersweet feelings toward Renegades at the moment. I love the show and the toys have me absolutely giddy (http://generalsjoes.com/renegades/g-i-joe-renegades-the-toys/) but I am sad that the show is on hiatus after season 1. From what I've seen of Joe fans, most of them are too closed minded about the series. As much as I enjoy the current events, it's pretty obvious that by season 2 the Joe team will be cleared and sanctioned and the real battle with Cobra will begin. It's too bad we won't see that. I've read that there will be 13 Renegades figures and, so far, no mention of the Baroness or Destro but I'm holding out hope as both of these designs are, hands-down, my favorite representation of these characters.

I'm probably on the boat with those that don't really have an interest in renegades.  I haven't watched the series as of yet (I don't have the channel it's on), but don't really feel the need to go out of my way to watch it either.

I AM excited about some of the figures I've seen from the line (Airtight, Duke, and the Zombie Viper), so I'll be on board for those.

Speaking of the figures... OMFG!!!!!! - Lifeline - FINALLY, Sci-Fi - Finally!

Can.  Not.  Wait....

You're killing me, Joel! Renegades is my favorite TV show currently airing. I'm praying Hasbro will release it on Blu Ray and at least get figures out of all of the main characters.

I too love Renegades.  I feel the property is directionless and I am tired of reboots.

That said, the figures at JoeCon look great.  I hope to see them at CanJoeCon in June.  A Zonbie.  Lifeline.  Airtight.  They do seem to listen.

I just wish they gave Renegades a chance.  Perhaps the plot of the sequel is too much like the show.  You could see it go that way at the end of ROC.

Well, if a couple of diehards like yourselves recommend it, I definitely do need to make a point of at least checking I out.  As much as I'm nostalgic about the 80's cartoon, it's the comic that has always been 'my joe'. That and japanimation in general turns me off.

That said... I'm gonna check it out with an open mind Smiley

Joel: I'm with you regarding the 80s comic. I think that's the reason my favorite GI Joe character is Storm Shadow. The 80s cartoon was too ridiculous. Even as a kid, I wondered why Firefly was leading the charge into battle.

Renegades has more of a European comic look than an anime look, IMO. If you go into the cartoon expecting a GI Joe team origin story, I think you'll find a lot to like. The relationships in Renegades takes a lot from the Hama comics, especially the Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow and Baroness/Destro stuff. I've quite enjoyed seeing the actions of the Joes resulting in the creation of the Cobra high command. That part has really affected me.

I think you can check these out on YouTube. I would recommend checking out The Descent and Return of the Arashikage. If you find anything to like in those episodes you should continue on.

Really bummed that even the two pack con exclusives this years weren't o-ring. Definitely would have grabbed Trigger and Lightning if they were, would have been nice addition to Python patrol. basically if you are an O-Ring fa, 2011 is a loser.

The subscription service is a great idea, but again, no o-ring so it's meh to me

I did recently get some new JOE items, to share, will take pics soon.

I've been fortunate to snag the ones for the last 3 years.  Looking forward to this year's 8 figure set.

God I miss Tim Hortons.  It's sad that most people now don't even know where the name comes from.  And I don't even know if every store even has his picture anymore.

The owner of the Con and site has them for sale on his site.  He priced them too high to now one wold buy them, but high enough it wouldn't hurt his feelings if someone actually did:

Yeah, I'm aware of those listings. Those asking priced are ridiculous and wouldn't even come to close to budging me even  if there was a 50% liquidation.

I catch them when sane people sell them off  Thumbs Up

Wow - I need to proof read more often.  Anyhow, the site owner knows they are insane prices, he's just putting some of them out there.

Did you see the chrome prototypes he put on eBay a few months ago?  The Skystriker looked great!  The SNAKE was cool too.

No I didn't actually, I'm in JOE off season right now, only having searches for a few specific items.
