Comics in West Virginia....
« on: Yesterday at 09:43 AM »

Hey just had a couple question that I thought you guys might be able to help me with. I was wondering if there are any comic shops around or in Harper's ferry West Virginia. Are there any comic shows being held around there small or large?

Thanks for the help guys , these were questions posed to me the other day I had no answer too. Tried checking google and couldn't find anything. Not even sure theres a fanbase around that area to support these thing anyway. Thinking

Hey Josh -

I grew up in Martinsburg years ago, so my answers are a bit dated.

But back then, the burg didn't really have a store. A few pawn shops, etc., but I think even those are gone. Probably the closest good shops to you would be in Hagerstown, MD (Atomic Comics) or Winchester, VA (Four Color Fantasies).

I use to shop at both, and back in the day, they were both fantastic stores.

I don't really hear of shows happening, either. I think there use to be something in Hagerstown, but I haven't heard of it in a while.

if you head towards DC, Big Planet is a good shop, too.

Thanks for all the info guys , it helped quite a bit, one more question though do you think that area could support a medium size comic show/ con?

I think this is more a question if theirs alot of interest around that area for it.

Beyond Comics in Frederick, Md is awesome. I have a friend who lives in Harper's Ferry and that's his shop. I go there every time I visit him. It's HUGE (for a comic shop) and has a good assortment of indy and marvel stuff.  They also have a shop in Gaithersburg, which is about 30 mins further south. Hope this helps
