Show Matinee Idles some love

Many of you know that Matinee Idles is a movie podcast that's hosted by Templar aka. Matt Burden, Joey Aulisio, Alec Berry and that one crazy Welsh guy.... Yes I know it's Vern Griffiths.
Anyhoo Popcandy is looking for some movie podcasts this time around and who among us doesn't love Matinee Idles ?
(That's rhetorical)

Oh you know... Anything to spread the joy and create more pressure for Joey's editing... Which has been topnotch you can hardly tell that skype keeps dropping people off all the time

I agree, heap some love on it. Hopefully it continues for a long time, because I'm sick of the movie podcasts that I really enjoy dying shortly after I find them (Scene-Unseen & Mondo Movie). I really dig Matinee Idles because it seems more like guys who really love movies sitting around discussing them in rigorous detail, than dudes who enjoy the smell of their own farts thinking of any way they can to say that something isn't really as good as people think it is, unless it's made by some French or Swedish filmmaker that most people have barely ever heard of (I'm looking at you Filmspotting).

This !
I love how the guys always seem to be able to appreciate( or sometimes hate) the movies for what they are, instead of trying to fit every movie into somesort of Good Movie/Bad Movie Categories.

Listen to the 'MATINEE IDLES' + 'THE CHEMICAL BOX' podcasts
Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

I freely release all arguments I make in this thread to be used on the behalf of Matinee Idles, and its subsidiaries.
And to be equally fair, I can be a little flabbergasted at the popularity of some movies too, but the number of calories that the Filmspotting guys burn to eviscerate popular movies smacks of elitism. And for the record, I've really liked Ingmar Bergman, Fritz Lang, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, etc. films that I've seen, so it's not as though I'm some barbarian American, but being European alone does not make film good, which can certainly be taken as implication from Filmspotting. I really don't want to bash on it too much though, there are aspects of their show that I really like, just not the main review portion. Your show whips the shit out of it.
EDIT: Lars von Trier can blow me though, that guy's fucked in the head.

Because I completely misread the first post, the Noisys were actually what I was talking about. But I also e-mailed for Popcandy!

Wasn't a fan of my Antichrist review i take lol.
As for Filmspotting, i listened to an episode where they kind of bashed Manhunter and that was enough for me.

I'd check out the Shaun Of The Dead episode, that's my favorite one we have done.

I hadn't noticed that you've done a review of Antichrist, I'll go digging for it if only to hear why someone else dug it. Sometimes the point of art is to sear something (an idea, an image, a sound, etc.) into your audience's brain, and in that respect I suppose Antichrist was successful, but to me it doesn't seem to require a great deal of skill to think up some of the most messed up shit ever though up and put it on film, which is largely what Antichrist seemed like to me. I'll be the first to admit though that I'm terrible at seeing/understanding metaphor, my brain is a little too straight forward.
