11 O'Clock Comics Episode 166

Much doom and gloom and all-around depressing stuff the first hour as we wade hip-deep into The Walking Dead volume 14 from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard (NOTE: If you want to skip ahead, you'll be fine if you jump to the 47:20 minute mark!), after which we elevate with elaboration on Falling Skies, Will Pfeifer and Jill Thompson's excellent Finals under the Vertigo Resurrected banner, Baltimore: The Plague Ships by Mignola and Ben Stenbeck from Dark Horse, the I...Vampire! serial by J. M. DeMatteis and Tom Sutton from the pages of House of Mystery, Wolverine and Jubilee, Rogue's X-marks, Deathmate, Joe Casey's Butcher Baker #3 and Marijuanaman from Image and Infantry under the DDP Aftermath imprint, 28 Days Later, Jeff Lemire's Sweet Tooth volume three, Avengers Academy Giant-Size, Aspen's Executive Assistant Iris Volume 1 from David Whol and Eduardo Francisco, Hickman's Red Wing, Scarlet, Gladstone's School for World Conquerors by Mark Andrew Smith and Image, and a whole mess more!

I can't wait for the day when the non-positive posts don't start until the SECOND page of the thread.
That's 'cause MJ is a ho.

Lionshead! You can't beat the price. That was our go-to beer as poor college students in N. Philly.
The pictures under the cap are actually puzzles that form common sayings.
Does that mean that Vince's cap was a "Six Shooter" or "Six Gun". That would be synchronicity with another hotly debated thread on the forums!

Man would I love to see DC put out the old Charlton Horror books in the Showcase Presents format. I know they have reprinted some Charlton stuff (the Ditko Action Heroes Archives). i am not sure if they have the rights to reprint all of the Charlton back catalog or just the super-hero stuff.

Oh, the departed Wilkes-Barre Red Barons. Yeah, they switched up affiliations, and now they're the Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
My father-in-law dropped his luxury box.
They did?!?!? Damn, I used to ROCK my SWB Red Barons baseball cap back in the day.

I used to say that I never followed minor league basebal... but then I realized I had been as a modern Pirates fan.

Normally I would laugh at that, but the Cubs are actually getting beat by them in the standings.

yeah... its a shame, because my in-laws in Wilkes-Barre are obviously HUGE Phillies fans. And to be able to see the up-and-coming minor league stars like Howard and Utley was really cool for them. Oh well.

We have a Phillies Minor League Franchise down here in Clearwater (The Thrashers). They have one of my favorite minor league parks and are very family friendly.
Let me know if anyone is coming down this summer and we can catch a game.

That's right! The Pirates have officially achieved the level of "average" at this point in time... and to be honest, I couldn't be happier!

Just a couple minutes. Vince seems to think one aspect of that current storyline is pretty cool.

SHORT.
I give props to Noto, reflect on bit on how Kathryn seems to be one of Marvel's "shelf filler/5th week" go-to writers at this point, and then talk about Jubilee and how I dug her back in the day but now they're struggling to make her relevant since M-Day.

Careful. Everybody who's not yet caught up on Walking Dead, Chris drops a pretty major spoiler around 44:18. The Walking Dead talk doesn't really stop until around 47:20.

I liked her scene in New Warriors where she meets up with Wolverine and eventually asks him "are we cool?" and he smirks and says to her "who says we weren't?"
Could they not have just kept going with the New Warriors version of her? I thought it was a nice way to go with her now that they've gone ahead and depowered her.
