I found out when I was borrowing an iPod charger from him because my phone was dying and he mentioned how he should put his iPod on but no one would like his music. I didn't think much of it but I asked him out of niceness what kind of music he listens to. He mentioned Can, I said Capt. Beefheart, we got to talking about Eno's "Apollo" soundtrack, and then he drops the bomb on me that he was in two huge experimental bands. I now feel incredibly inept to talk to him about music anymore.
