How cool is that stamp/ad? Did Dave K send that to you or did I accidentally do so? ....if so, sorry Dave!
I'll get some images up and pics from the Con later tonight.

Here's some visual material related to Saturday, day one of the BostonComicCon on 4/30/11:
This was the initial hallway with the 'red carpet' big name guests signing....here's Jolly Joe Kubert:
...and Able Arthur Adams, who had a nice, magazine sized, 56page sketchbook:
The sight walking into the main Con space...definately a 'basement' vibe, but plenty of retailers with dollar bins for the bin divers, original art dealers along the front wall, and 'artists' alley along the left and back wall, as well as throughout the left-most aisles:
Guess who's drawing this really, REALLY sweet Black Cat commission?:
David, it's freakin' Matt Wagner! ...really nice, friendly guy!
Here's Frank Cho's personalized book signing, and the free Bat-print Greg Capullo was giving out....another really nice, friendly guy, going out of his way to say, 'thanks' to everybody and wanting to know everyone's name, shaking everyone's hand...real appreciative to the fans:
...and the signatures I grabbed:
(roughly clockwise from upper left: Howard Chaykin, gahan Wilson, Frank Cho, Christopher Golden, Declan Shalvey, Matt Wagner, Joe Kubert, Darwyn Cooke, Koi Pham, Greg apullo, Arthur Adams, Stephane Roux, Dave johnson, Adam Hughes, Stan Sakai, J Scott Campbell, Tony Harris)
Lastly, here are some images from the big print of mixed superheros in action I picked up for my kiddo by artist Maris Wicks at http://dotsforeyes.blogspot.com/
...all in all, a fun time!

Doctor Strange Marvel Masterworks vol.1 (part 2!)
Here are the covers to the Strange Tales we discussed, which are fun to see, even though they don't really inform much on the Doctor Strange stories:
Some classicly and so effectively portrayed magic countering magic during battle by master Steve Ditko, leading to my 'Three Stooges' counter-measure metaphor/comment:
I just love this Mordo splash page, from top to bottom:
The 'mugging' of an astral form!:
Another great splash page, evoking an almost stained-glass effect:
That wild effect of being in the Sun!:
Ditko: the interdimensional mystic landscaper:
First gaze at Eternity!:
Battle Pincers!:
Here are the John Byrne/Al Milgrom wraparound covers from the 4 issues of Doctor Strange Classics that were on the stands in 1984, reprinting the entire 12 part saga, with modern re-coloring!...well, modern for 1984...the printing overall is pretty bad within, but still worth having if you ever come across these....there are great pinups within by Potts, Sienkiewicz, Green, Leialoha, Golden, Nowlan, Salmons, etc.:
And: the Amazing Spider Man Annual #2:
The Wand of Watoomb showed up again in MTU and Fanfare:
...and lastly, the Frank Miller/P Craig Russell plate from the early '80s MTU Portfolio, which is a bit larger than my scanner bed, but you get the drift....they even include the 'Sandman' clone!:
Enjoy!

More karma to Dave K. I liked the coverage of the Boston Con and the Heroes for Hire talk. I was not a con goer from back in the day (too geographically remote) but is it me or have the cons really taken off? Readership may be down but attendence at those things (especially the big ones) seems to be through the roof. If anyone needs a west coast correspondent . . .
I read the new H for H book last night. I am digging it. Last night it dawned on me that it reminds me of Marvel Team Up 1. It is nice seeing all the different heroes and the "this is control" angle makes it feel old school, like some old timey spy thing. Keep up the great work and keep making mine Marvel Noise.
1
and no it is not because Spider-man was in it

Just finishing up this episode. It was great to hear about your Boston Con adventures Steve as I reflect on my own adventures.
