Rest in Peace, Jeffrey Catherine Jones

The artist formerly known as Jeff Jones has passed.

Probably the least famous of the members of The Studio (to comics fans), I grew to respect her work the most.

I own one print and it's by Jeff Jones.

I recommend anyone to check out Jeff's facebook feed where daily you will see multiples works. A MASTER and in the real way, not the way we throw it around here. Frazetta called Jeff the world's best living painter. I still think that.

Love Jeff's work. Absolute monster with a brush. Drew some damn fine ladies, too.

Her art was magic. Simply indescribably beautiful. I have said it before that her art moved me like no other.

She was an artist that I wanted to meet some day.

I am looking forward to the upcoming documentary.

Magic is her art.

Pimpin' photo of big time talent together in their younger days. That's a beastly squad of 4.

FUCK!!! that is horrible. I know Jeff the last few years has been very rough for him. my former painting teacher George Pratt always had very nice things to say about Jeff. Jeff took George, Kent Williams, and Jon J Muth under his wing back when they were students. I hope the poor guy is at least in peace now.

I remember when I first saw that picture and thought those guys looked like Led Zeppelin or something instead of comic book artists. I thought that was pretty cool.

I'm fortunate to have a Jeff Jones sketch in my collection. I'll have to take a pic of it and post it later.

This is terrible news.  Jeff was a very sensitive and caring guy, and a fantastic artist.  His mental health seemed to be on the upswing after a massive depression fit following his sex reassignment surgery.  I had so hoped to see him make a complete recovery and get healthy physically and mentally.  Man this sucks so bad.

I'm not very familiar with her work but I think I might have to see what I can find.

There is a good video with her here.

Jeff's work was a huge inspiration to me and he was a true master of the brush, whether he was slinging ink or paint. He is definitely missed.
