Bela Lugosi's Tales From the Grave!!!
« on: 01:11 PM | Saturday, November 27, 2010 »

Fans of Creepy, you've gotta check out...

Bela Lugosi's Tales From The Grave

from http://www.monsterverse.com/.

You've gotta seek this out and give it a chance.

My LCS just happened to order one copy of the first issue.  I flipped through it and snagged it up immediately.  Fantastic art and classic storytelling equals a very fun read.  No idea when the second issue comes out but I've added it to my pull list and I can't wait.  Monsterverse deserves major kudos for putting together such a great first effort!

If anybody else has encountered this book, please let me know what you thought.

48 BIG PAGES for $4.99!

Which is the same as the new Creepy comic, I think.

Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave #2
« Reply #5 on: 05:05 PM | Friday, May 06, 2011 »

Remember how much I raved about the first issue of Monsterverse's Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave? Well, the second issue is solicited in this month's Previews and it looks to be EVEN BETTER than the first! Click here for a taste.

BTW, the cover was done by none other than RICK BAKER!  Not Worthy

(Yes, that Rick Baker, David...)

His 'untooned' Popeye has always creeped me the hell out.  Cry

The preview looks fun, though!

I thought the first issue was very fun... I second Vince's enthusiasm for this anthology.  Thumbs Up

I sooo, wanted to be Rick Baker when I grew up. Every time he wins an Oscar, I cheer loudly.
Thanks for reminding me of this series Vince, I'll check it out for sure.

My LCS purchased a copy of this for me when they noticed I had added #2 to my pull-list.

I just finished reading this and have to admire how beautiful and well executed this book really is.   If anyone can obtain a copy of this book, I HIGHLY recommend it!  Thumbs Up
