Question for Marvel Noise Listeners
« on: 08:04 AM | Friday, April 23, 2010 »

Something I've been thinking about lately is my contribution (or lack thereof) to Marvel Noise.  I would like to have more time to read things for the show, but lately I haven't been that lucky.  So my question to those that listen to the podcast, how upset would you be if the show had a looser schedule, maybe twice a month?

I know many people enjoy Steve's and Pat's and Rick's segments (to name a few) and as long as they keep doing 'em I'll keep including 'em.  So if that's what is important to you, believe me I won't take offense.  Feel free to answer honestly and tell me what's on your mind.

i love getting a new marvel noise every week and i think the episodes you guys are putting out are great. i don't really think anything should change. i enjoy listening and like the random format as it shakes things up. i know you guys are stressed for time and if it is too much to keep up the weekly episodes they i'd have no problem with two a month but if it's about the quality of the show then it's great just the way it is. i suggested to Steve, and i believe he forwarded the email on to you, that you should post a weekly(or 2 a month) question asking for peoples opinions on up coming series and read out/ discuss some of the answers on the show. it could take some pressure off you and the rest of the crew.
Also Rick you didn't give us a number to call and since i'm in Australia you'll have to take the call at 1:30 in the morning.

Hi, Henri!
I'm thrilled that you want to respond to the show, assumedly regarding the Smash Tales segment. I'm not sure what you'd be calling about in particular, but I usually keep an eye on the forum thread for Marvel Noise for feedback. You can always send me a personal message thru the forum, too, which I see almost immediately in my personal email. Long live Marvel Noise and Fare Thee Well!

...and you can always call the show and leave a voice mail comment at ....but why would you want to do that from AUS, when you can just get in on the episode discussions on the forum?!?

I think Henri's responding to this, gents;

... Anyway, if a bi-weekly format will ensure the future of the show by preserving DAP's sanity and quality of life, then so be it. You fans of Smash Tales will just have to call me and I will give you the every-other-week installment over the phone. Add your own sound effects.

To be honest, when I clicked on my email notification link, it took me back to Rick's response as my first unread post in this thread, and then hilarity ensued.  Roll On Floor Laughing

I'm thinking of David here and so it influenced my vote.  Yes, I want to listen you boys every week and enjoy doing so, but time is an issue.  As Derek opined, burnout could be an issue.

I love Zach's suggestions of having contributors input on a constant feed, so we, the listeners can get a steady stream of Marvel goodness.

In short, "no", with the caveat that less equals more.
