If you only knew.
Chris could go around slapping sleeping babies on their foreheads with his dick and I'd still think he was the cat's ass. World's greatest podcaster, too.
(Damn. When the hell does that check get here?)

Knowing you, I would think something like that could only improve your opinion of someone.

That's okay, Dave. I knew what you meant. "Great minds..." and all.
The day after I typed the Daredevil rant, I sat down to read the latest issue. Thank goodness the upcoming plot has to do with solving a seemingly random, disconnected court case mystery. I'd have been ready to break down if old Matt Murdock had to deal with his poor wife being beaten or raped or killed again. Luke Cage cameo.

I like daredevil under Brubaker but with the previous run having years of misery in every issue you do kind of need to give daredevil a break for a few issues.

I urge everyone to give Wonder woman a try now that Gail Simone is on the book. She is kicking major ass right now showing how interesting a character WW can be.

Listening to this one now...
There's nothing wrong with the characters getting a little bit of happiness every now and then, and it should be done every so often, just so that character could have those highs... and that would include Matt Murdock as well...
As far as good characters who are "happy" (and really who is truly happy? Just those that don't really know any better-- you have good moments here and there, but continuously)... Zot? Now there was a great book...
I dropped Daredevil my own self awhile back, simply because I was bored stiff with the book... to me anyway, Brubaker and Lark were like Bendis and Maleev-lite (very lite), and I truly just did not care a bit, at least not to the same way that I did under Bendis...
Oh great, more Scott Kolins haters... yeah, I know that's not really what you guys meant, but still...
DC Style? Seriously this is probably going to be apples and oranges depending on what your company preference is, but personally, I think more artist that work for DC have a better chance to shine as artists than they do at the "House of Ideas." I don't know, but there was always something to me to me that seemed the same throughout the Marvel books and only the really good ones could buck that trend...
... like Alan Davis!! There's a guy who's distinctive enough at either company...

Y'know, when Justiniano started out, I really wasn't that thrilled over his work, but really he's just grown more and more over the last few years. It really started when he was drawing Day of Vengeance, but kicked into overdrive when he was drawing The Creeper, with him showing tons of subtlety when he was drawing Jack Ryder. His little side steps into 52 were extremely awesome (the 50th issue of course, but then when you saw all of the 52 Earths in #52, it was just like this kid really did his homework).
Now after his Doctor Fate work (and I'm totally with Vince on this, Gerber hadn't lost a step and for me this was the best thing going for DC, and remember I'm a huge DC fan), I not only see some Berni Wrightson in his work, but also some P. Craig Russell, you could almost see the work as a cross between the two...
I never thought the kid's work would grow on me in the way it has...
The only regret here is that Justiniano didn't draw any of the last chapter-- I'd be curious to find out the whys on that one, I could see it as just wanting to keep his work to the Gerber-written chapters though...
I liked this one so much that I ordered the trade as well...
