Marvel Noise Episode 38
« on: 09:06 AM | Wednesday, June 18, 2008 »

Shownotes are practically nonexistent as our host is more than a little sleepy. A quick rundown includes, Bring 'em Back, Marvel Unbound, multiple calls from Carlos, Steve Raker and the Comic Bunker, and some driving.

Titles mentioned in this episode include Amazing Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Punisher, X-Force, and The Twelve.

Get it here.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for praising Amazing Spider-Man (Slott, Martin, etc.). I regularly visit the Spider-Man Crawlspace message boards and even the people there who like BND bitch about each and every issue and have something negative to say about each release.
It's so great to hear someone unabashedly praise something without feeling like they have to criticize some aspect of it so they don't sound naive or something. Thanks! Nice work again, m'man.

Did it sound okay, though?  Better than nothing and you can live with it or something better than that?

This book has been... Spectacular!  I just finished 559 and 560 tonight and absolutely loved both of them!  For some reason, I could never get into Slott's writing on Avengers: The Initiative, but I am loving him here.  I was kinda concerned about the three times a month thing when I first heard about it but I've really enjoyed it so far.  Since I get my DCBS shipment once a month, it's been great looking forward to one big, complete Spidey story each month.  I'm really digging Marcos Martins art also.  There were bits and pieces of it that reminded me alot of Romita, Jr.  I don't know if it was the colors or the inks, but there were just certain points that reminded me alot of Romita, Jr when he was drawing the book when Strazynski was writing.

It's my pleasure!  I'll talk about the good stuff all day long.  I'll be repetitive, but dammit, I'll talk about it!

It sounded ok, but I think you should include little comments like, "hang on, I've got to get off this exit", and, "oh, that jerk just cut me off...." and the like. Smiley
.....put us in the car with you Cheesy!

Hey, David!

Been a little out of the loop lately due to a crap load of work and traveling, but I just wanted to say that...

I too thought that this was an exceptional episode.  I loved your no note having, not stationary being, off the cuff talking, not at home quiet being self.  You put most people to shame with remembering names and details as it is, but it's still your opinions and insights that are the real gold.  All this and you still managed to do your best Richard Blackwell by commenting on Franklin Richards' outfit.

Awesomeness.
