Not that I don't like the pretty pictures, because I really do, but let me get this straight:  DC "killed off" the New Gods and the Fourth World, only to have Morrison's version of the "Fifth World" be the New Gods in new costumes?  ???

Well, I think it'll be a bit more than that...

I see Kamandi! YEE!

Is it too much to hope that Morrison ties him to the New Gods/5th World in some way?

When I saw Kamandi on the same page as Mister Miracle, I thought the same thing.

This Sketchbook may be the nicest $2.99 I've ever spent on an advertisement.

But it's money I'd gladly spend again and again to see some fantastic NEW artwork rather than get a thrown together leftover issue of Marvel Saga.

How's that?

Good thing one wouldn't have to BUY that leftover issue of Marvel Saga.

Being a sketchbook I'm sure it brought everyone up to speed on what Final Crisis is all about.

It's about DC characters.  See, the book did its job.   Smiley

I usually steer away from the sketchbook stuff, but JG Jones is enough for me to be curious, after all, I picked up the 52 covers HC, so this was nothing!  Roll Eyes

Can anybody explain how Kamandi would be tied into the New Gods? I'd love to see him brought back, but not as anything cosmic.

I can't think of any reason, but I don't know it that would be the kind of thing they're trying to accomplish (making him cosmic, that is).  Let's keep in mind, that, if they take what happened in Countdown any further, that Kamandi, or the boy that will be Kamandi, is the new Omac's grandson IIRC (and it's possible that I don't. THinking of Countdown makes me a little bit sleepy...).  They may just be looking at ways to interlace a lot of the Kirby creations... er... Kreations.

I guess I'm worried they'll do something dumb with the character. That's way ridiculous, since Kammandi hasn't been used in what (puts pinky to corner of mouth) one mellion years.

Fear of lameness is never ridiculous!
